What's going on with you, then?

Post by Fogg » Mon Oct 02, 2017 8:39 pm

Me? A year ago I gave that there Couch To 5k thing a go. It started with 8x one minute bursts of slow jogging with a couple of minutes of cool down between them, It hurt like you'd not imagine, but I stuck with it and it got progressively easier. In the end I actually found myself enjoying it. I do 5k parkrun most weeks now, and go to a beginners club too.

Anyway, for a joke / fake display of bravado I entered the London Marathon, I know it's massively over-subscribed so knew I stood no real chance of having to do it, I just thought I'd be able to say "Yeah, I applied, alas, no joy", except today I lucked in. I've gone and got a place.

well done in getting a place. i guess you'll have to train more now or are you just going to enjoy the day and just get round.

5k to 42k......that's a bit of a difference! That's like the couch to mt Everest! Good luck with that. I've always thought a half marathon would be a good distance to try. I did a 12k fun run years ago.....but was much healthier, and younger, then. I might yet try the 12k again next year I hope.

Wear an eye-catching costume so we'll see you on the telly. A pair of running testicles should do it!

That's really impressive Fogg, good luck with it!

Things are busy enough here, we still have a cat who acts like a dog and the older cats are finally infection free (at a huge cost  ).
Starting to get back to drawing/painting now that I finally have a work space safe from catdog. Trying to record music regularly with the nerd (kae) too which is fun, helps with preparing for my higher grade exams.

I've got to wear this, haven't I?

I might wear a giant nutsack over the top though, just to spare my blushes.

I'm doing a half on Sunday. It's my first, and I'm not nearly ready for it.
